My name is Chelsea and I am a 24 year old college graduate living in San Diego, California. I now have my bachelor’s degree in Foods and Nutrition and find myself focused on cooking up dishes at home. I probably own about a dozen cookbooks, have subscriptions to both Cooks Illustrated and Cuisine at home magazine, and often develop my own recipes. My love of cooking and baking began when I was young, staying at my grandparent’s house on school breaks. I learned how to properly measure liquid and dry ingredients, the easiest way to measure out shortening, and recipe terminology. My parents and friends continue to support this hobby of mine and now even my coworkers look forward to what I’ll make next. I feel ingredients or techniques should not stop me from trying something new. I would love to someday have a career where I can go to work and cook up some ideas or write my own cookbook. As for now, I will use this blog to share my experiences in the kitchen and the knowledge I gain through my studies.
